Alyssa Boinais, LMSW
Alyssa Boinais is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Be Mindful Therapy. She received her Bachelors and Master's degrees in Social Work from Wayne State University. She has experience working with depression, trauma, anxiety, mood disorders and children. While she has experience working with many different populations, she works best with women who are struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, and life transitions. She works well with new mothers learning to manage all of the adjustments in life that come with parenting. Alyssa enjoys guiding young adults and college students as they navigate the challenges of transitioning into their adult life.
She conducts therapy with a strength-based, client-centered approach while utilizing evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavioral therapy, trauma-informed interventions, exposure response prevention, and mindfulness techniques. While, Alyssa incorporates components of DBT and ERP, she is not certified or able to provide structured DBT or ERP treatment.
Her goal is to provide clients with compassion and support while they create healthy boundaries, learn to manage emotions, cope with stressors, increase self-awareness, achieve their goals, and build confidence in themselves.

Alyssa believes the therapeutic relationship is what creates the ideal space for healing. She will prioritize building rapport with you before pushing you to confront any of the "hard" stuff.

Alyssa really values family. On an ideal weekend, you can catch her up north camping with the whole family. She is the oldest of 5 siblings and a mother to 2 young kids.

Alyssa spends the summers camping, gardening, paddle boarding and playing outside as much as possible. She spends the winters skiing, snowboarding, or just cozied up on the couch watching Disney movies. Some fun facts of her hobbies include she has over 100 houseplants and 2 big lovable huskies!

Alexa Baxt, LLMSW
Alexa Baxt is a dedicated social worker with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Southern California, which she obtained in 2010. With extensive experience in working with families and children, Alexa specializes in navigating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and providing crucial support to families with children who have special needs.
Throughout her career, Alexa has demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering women facing substance abuse issues, offering compassionate guidance and support. Her expertise also extends to blended families and parenting challenges, where she provides valuable insights and strategies to foster harmonious family dynamics. In addition to her work with families,
Alexa has conducted training sessions focused on pet loss and grief, recognizing the profound impact that pets have on our lives. She employs a variety of therapeutic modalities within her practice, allowing her to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual and family. With a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others, Alexa continues to be a valuable resource for her clients, guiding them through their challenges with empathy and professionalism.

I truly value the relationships in my life. I love expressing myself creatively through art, fashion, and theater. Giving back to others and the community is important to me, and I also make it a point to take some time for myself when I need to recharge, reflect, and grow.

I love spending my free time at home with my kids. We have a full house of pets that I adore, including cats, a dog, and two ducks. I'm involved in community theater, participating in both youth and adult programs. I also enjoy traveling to new places and exploring.

Natalie Barber, LMSW
Natalie Barber, LMSW, completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Health with a minor in Holistic Health at Western Michigan University in 2018. She then pursued her education at Wayne State University, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2020. During her graduate studies, Natalie completed three internships focused on disabilities, case management, resource finding, and advocacy for people living with HIV.
Natalie has diverse work experience, including as an inpatient psychiatric social worker. Currently, she works as a school based behavioral health clinician and a private practice social worker.
Natalie has special interests in gender and sexuality, neurodiversity, anxiety, trauma, and suicide prevention. She finds great joy in working with youth and young adults, helping them understand that things will improve and that healing is possible. Natalie recognizes that various factors contribute to a person’s well-being and treats her clients as whole individuals.

My therapeutic approach is relaxed and authentic. I believe therapy should be collaborative and creative, as each person is unique and deserves their own support.

I value honesty. I believe life is built on relationships, and for those relationships to be authentic, we need to be honest with ourselves and others.

In my free time, I enjoy being creative and learning new things. Currently, I’m taking a weekly pottery class and learning how to sew. I love spending time in the sun, especially during the summer when I go to the pool or kayak. In the winter, I enjoy traveling to Florida and exploring the beaches and Disney! I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends and going on adventures locally.
